The Creative Lab sits within Spotify Advertising, the business unit within Spotify that focuses on connecting brands to millions of fans around the world. Our team is Spotify Advertising’s in-house creative agency, responsible for building branded experiences. We collaborate with brands and agencies to inspire, create, and scale creativity with Spotify-first thinking. We are seeking a seasoned creative strategist to be based in London, UK, joining our talented creative strategy team. This creative strategist will be dedicated to inspiring the best ideas centered around Spotify through proactive and reactive responses to creative briefs, co‑creating and building with our biggest brands, creators, and advertisers today. While the job is located in our London headquarters, this is focused on global accounts which means that the work may be focused on the UK and US (majority) or in some cases across markets throughout Europe, India, South Korea and Singapore depending on where our clients are based. The ideal candidate is a visionary strategist who truly embraces the blend of technology and storytelling. They think ahead, always planning the next feature or product in the innovation pipeline with immersive storytelling in mind for the industry. Their skills are varied: they can provide audience‑centered ideas that meet brand objectives; meet with CCOs or CMOs at Fortune 500 brands to motivate future innovations and recommendations; and develop narratives, playbooks, and frameworks to assist internal and external collaborators in understanding platform possibilities. The ideal candidate will build and lead our response to global, multinational clients including major CPG, tech and telco brands. Experience with global clients in portfolio settings or multi‑market campaigns is required due to cross‑regional duties. They will report directly to the Head of EMEA driving approach to JBP support and coordination. This includes owning the account strategy and prioritization development with our global account partners. Facilitate inspirational workshops with senior‑level partners to find the right balance of boundary‑pushing creative expression and brand realities. Collaborate closely with other groups inside the Creative Lab, including the operations and production team that delivers outstanding craft and implementation for clients. Also work with the creative intelligence team, which partners with insights and data science teams to identify effective creative guidelines. This informs the creation of top‑quality, impactful campaigns on Spotify. Additionally, engage with a strong group of global creative leads across various subject areas. Develop and showcase innovative thought leadership on industry, advertising, visual and digital culture and trends as input and fodder to inspire internal and external partners. Who You Are 8+ years working in creative direction and strategy within a tech platform; creative agency background is strongly preferred; in‑house brand experience is beneficial but optional. Experience collaborating with CPG and Tech brands is a plus. Experience working across different markets and geographies; understands that cultural nuances are a must in considering creative ideation. Experience working with senior‑level collaborators and clients at agencies and brands. Superlative cross‑functional partnership skills that will help align our sales, marketing and product partners to our vision while supporting overall goals of the business. Excellent presenter who can adapt from a small room of CMOs and CCOs to a large audience of industry experts. They inspire everyone toward creative storytelling on Spotify Ads. Experience managing and operationalizing creative teams including managing budgets, process and ways of working internally and externally. Exceptionally organized with robust operational capabilities and the capacity to collaborate across different time zones and markets. Ability to work in a fast‑paced, matrixed environment and across collaborators in business marketing, brand, and product teams to build consensus on shared initiatives. Keen observer and documenter of culture, with a keen understanding of what is relevant and the ability to identify upcoming visual, digital and tech trends. Expert written and verbal communicator, capable of expressing abstract creative concepts clearly and influencing audiences when necessary. Deep understanding of integrated marketing development, tech platforms and social media landscape, with experience in digital‑first production.
